Last night in the middle of the night we had another one of those only in Boston moments. Perhaps what I am going to describe may happen elsewhere, but I'm not sure of another place where someone would do something so stupid and silly.
So, at 2:57 am (I distinctly remember seeing the time), I heard what sounded like transformers exploding or popping and our dark room becoming as bright as day in about 7 different colors in about 7 seconds. Yes, my friends, a fireworks show (and not just Roman candles mind you) on the neighboring roof (being shot off 50 feet from our bedroom window) in the middle of the night.
Now, this is not the first time in the last couple months (we have some newer neighbors in the area) that this has happened, but it is the first time that it has happened after say, 12 or 1 in the morning. And, this is the type of fireworks that you see on the Charles with the Boston Pops playing. They were huge and all different types, shapes, and colors... and went on for several minutes.
This morning Jeremy went to the car to go to work and there was ash all over the street and all the cars. Yes, it was that bad. Needless to say, it took me about a hour to go back to sleep after that because I was so awake by the end of the show. Only in Boston.

Pumps and the other side of CPS
So, I've had an interesting and exciting week starting at Children's. It is so nice to be in a place where everyone seems to enjoy their jobs (for the most part) and also to be in a place where social workers take their jobs seriously....they dress professionally, they really want to be at the top of their field, etc. Anyway, so I've been prancing around in my adult day clothes and heels. I really do love wearing heels and unless you knew Texas CPS court going Chelsea you probably didn't see this side of me.
About CPS, I saw CPS from the other side of the fence today and it wasn't pretty. Let's just say that I was pretty apauled and wanted to pull out my hair.
Had my first case by myself today (which was good). Hmm.... that's all. I want to accomplish a bit of reading tonight.

Back in the swing of things.
This will be short and void of pictures. But, we are back and settled in for the fall and winter. We went to Texas (as many of you know) for a long weekend to speak at a church and see old friends, and have been back for a bit more than a week. It seems as though this is the time of year that everyone up here nestles in for the winter... like preparing for hibernation or something. Don't worry, we'll emerge for Thanksgiving and Christmas in Texas (one side of the family and then the other).
You can tell Fall is on its way in up here. Jeremy and I LOVED our first New England fall last year. Everyday is beautiful this time of year. It has already been over a month since we last used our window unit A/C. And, apple picking time is soon approaching. Yay!
I started school back yesterday evening, and will start my internship at Children's next Monday. As most of you know, I've worked professionally, but have never had to dress super professionally. It seems that regularly at my job in Texas that I was one of the dressier ones.... and that wasn't that dressy. Anyhow, I've been putting big-girl outfits together because I do have to dress professionally this year.
Jeremy has been more and more busy at work which is great considering that there was a lay-off in another group in his company because that group didn't have enough work. Work on Jeremy, work on....
So, that is about all from the Reddin homefront up here.
