Baseball in the Neighborhood

With the streak of decent weather continuing, we headed down to the baseball fields near our house to play a bit of catch this morning. Jeremy and I were having a good bit of fun ourselves, when a whole team of people (literally) walked up and asked if Jeremy and I would join them for a bit of hitting and fielding practice. I coaxed Jeremy into it and we joined the 8 other guys and one other girl.

For starters, I strategically placed myself in right field so that I'd get as little action as possible and hoped that I'd just make one good catch so that I wouldn't be laughed off the field... this did happen by the way. I caught the one pop fly that came my way and even almost had to dive (luckily I didn't).

So, the group finally coaxed Jeremy into batting practice, and he, well, put the rest of the guys (none of whom were bad) to shame. There were lots of choice words of exclamation flying across the outfield as he would hit each ball waaaay past where everyone was standing. Then I hit, and well, we won't talk about that. Anyhow, we earned an invitation back to play next week.

That's awesome that you guys had that kind of interaction with a "random" group....and how exciting that you'll have more opportunities to be around them. Sounds like fun!! :o) Love y'all!
